We have lost Professor Giancarlo Comi. A visionary doctor and scientist, Professor Comi played a leading role in an era of extraordinary successes in the field of multiple sclerosis and beyond. An extraordinarily prominent figure on the international stage, he leaves behind, among other achievements, the successes of early treatment, the renewal of clinical study designs, and his commitment to patient-reported outcomes, his last endeavor. Also remembered is his insuppressible passion for research. As a physician, he never gave up, even in the face of the most severe conditions, in attempting innovative therapeutic approaches. With his passing, an era of world neurology comes to an end.
